Our production quotation service provides clients with accurate set up and production costs for your new product. We produce detailed manufacturing specifications so that all components, materials and surface finishes are quoted accurately and quality targets are understood.
Following this, we provide a detailed report with set up costs, unit cost and additional information such as shipping and duty costs that you will need to establish accurate costs for manufacturing your product.
PRODUCTION TOOLING &
DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE (DFM)
Duku understands the attention to detail required to turn concepts into production ready products. ​Working closely with manufacturing partners, Duku will undertake design refinements using the latest 3D CAD software based on toolmaker feedback or product samples from production tooling to ensure a high quality product and cost effective manufacturing approach.
Alongside production tooling design and sign off, a cohesive production service can be tailored to project requirements including pre-compliance testing and technical file generation for UKCA & conformity marking

Duku can support you throughout the tooling, sampling and manufacturing process of your project. This involves final amendments to the design, decisions regarding materials, colours and packaging design. What is design for manufacture?
Design for manufacture is the final stage of a product development project. Within this stage our product designers ensure that your working product meets the requirements of manufacturers and their machinery.
How to get a product manufactured?
Once your product has finished development, Duku can help take it to manufacture. You will need a set of design files including 2D technical drawings, 3D CAD models and a bill of materials to approach manufacturers. All of which Duku can produce for you.
How do I find a manufacturer for my product
Duku has a network of approved trusted suppliers who we have worked with for over a decade. Capable of working on small simple products, through to large electro-mechanical products and even medical devices. Working with our suppliers streamlines the production quotation and manufacturing stages of your product. You can source your own manufacturer but it can take a lot of time to find the right manufacturer, who can produce your product at the right price and quality.
How much does it cost to manufacture a product?
We are often asked this very early in the project. We need to approach a manufacturer with a completed set of design files, where we can accurately quote the production cost of your invention. So we have to complete earlier concept development, CAD design and prototyping phases before we can investigate manufacturing costs.
What country should I manufacture in?
Duku are big supporters of UK manufacturing. There are many benefits to having a local supplier you can visit. So wherever possible we will suggest a UK based manufacturer. However, if this isn't suitable, we have worked with a select group of trusted Far East suppliers for many of our projects for over 10 years.
