MEDICAL DEVICE DESIGN
INNOVATIVE MEDICAL DEVICE
Duku were asked to create a multi-use product which could attach a variety of items such as a tissue dispenser or an ipad, to the upright pole next to the dentist's chair.
A silicon-rubber grip was designed to fasten around different diameter poles, this attaches to a patent protected twist-release bracket to allow easy attachment of the different items.
DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE
The design had to be able to pass through an autoclave to sterilise the parts whilst also being robust and stylish. Detailed CAD design and prototyping followed, to test the design of the strap and perfect the clamp mechanism which can accommodate tablets of different sizes. The final design progressed onto mass production through our manufacturing partners.
