Hospitals and Universities spend thousands on medical manikins to train practitioners for specific procedures. The concept development brief set to us by Bart’s Health NHS, was to create a class 1 medical training product which reduced the cost of existing manikins for the process of locating the jugular vein.
BRANDING AND PACKAGING
We reconsidered the process entirely, creating a manufactured product that creates manikins at very low cost. Inspired by a jelly mould and Tupperware, the design creates a mould into which a disposable (water-soluble) gelatin manikin can be created to produce a reusable, sustainable design. This new way of approaching the problem provided a very low-cost ongoing solution for the NHS.
