Rechargeable Heated Plate
Hot Cuisine is a set of rechargeable heated plates designed to keep food warm for longer. The plate is charged using a wireless induction charging system to allow the product to be as safe and easy to clean as normal dinnerware. The plates rest in a charging station so they are ready to be used any time and are activated by a simple button on the underside.
Initial concept development focused on developing a design specification that would allow us to provide key criteria that the design needed to meet such as how the plates might be heated and to what temperature and how the product would ideally be charged. Alongside this, initial concepts were proposed that explored the aesthetic development and assembly of the plates and charging station. A CAD visualisation stage was then carried out to allow the client to present the concept professionally.
Following the development of a clear specification and initial concept proposals, an electronic feasibility stage was carried to explore and prove the proposed electronic setup. This involved the creation of proof of concept electronics to test the heating elements and induction charging system.
